BRONX MAN INDICTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING YOUNG GIRL IN YONKERS ON TWO OCCASIONS

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced that a Bronx man was charged with two counts each of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a class A felony, and First-Degree Rape, a class B violent felony, for allegedly raping a child.

Hakeem Anderson, 32, was arraigned on the indictment Tuesday morning before Westchester County Court Judge Robert Prisco, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Anderson is being held without bail at the Westchester County Jail. A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.

DA Cacace said: “The tender age of the victim in this case renders these allegations beyond comprehension. Our office will ensure that she has all the care and support she needs as the criminal process plays out. I am grateful that our law enforcement partners were able to locate the defendant after he fled and return him to face justice in Westchester County.”

On two occasions – in November and December of last year – the defendant is accused of raping a girl under the age of 11 with whom he was acquainted. After these incidents, Anderson fled Westchester County.

Following an investigation, the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Yonkers Police Department managed to locate the defendant in The Bronx and returned him to the custody of Westchester County.

The investigation was conducted by the Yonkers Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

The case is being prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Charlotte Gudis.
