Connecticut Man Arrested by Harrison Police for Auto Theft – Reckless Driving

The Harrison Police Department is pleased to announce the arrest of 19-year old Devlin J. Lavallee of Middlebury, Connecticut, in connection with the grand larceny of a vehicle in West Harrison, New York.

On the morning of Thursday, November 28, 2024, a West Harrison resident reported suspicious activity to the Harrison Police Department, describing two vehicles— a white Mercedes Benz and a dark colored sedan, later determined to be an Audi A5 – driving along Columbus Avenue. The occupants of the ve hicles were observed attempting to pull on door handles of parked cars.

Harrison Police quickly responded to the scene, and a pursuit began of the black Audi A5, after the driver failed to comply. The Audi A5 was pursued by Harrison Police, North Castle Police, Yonkers and Westchester County Police. The vehicle ultimately crashed on Buena Vista Avenue in Yonkers, where the driver fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, Lavalle was apprehended by Westchester County Police.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the Audi 5 was stolen from West Harrison that morning. Lavalle was transported to Harrison Police headquarters and processed.

Lavalle faces multiple charges, including:
• Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree (D Felony)
• Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree (D Felony)
• Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 3rd Degree (D Felony)
• Unlawful Fleeing a Police Offi cer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree (A
Misdemeanor)
• Reckless Driving (Unclassifi ed Misdemeanor)
• Several other Vehicle and Traffi c Law violations

Crime Center for their assistance.

Lavalle was arraigned and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in Harrison Town Court on December 10, 2024.
