100 Years of the Yorktown Grange Fair

“Family Days and Date Nights”

When it comes to planning weekend activities from September 6th-8th, look no further than the 2024 Yorktown Grange Fair! The Fair is your one stop destination for all things fun all weekend long. For 100 years, the Grange Fair has been a welcome party for the Fall season – giving the community a chance to gather and celebrate all the things and people that make Westchester County so spectacular.

It is the perfect place to spend the day with the family and an ideal place to get out of the house during the evening with a date or with friends. The best part is that admission is only $10 per carload and parking is free- so bring the whole family and all the friends – the Centennial Celebration is going to be a blast!

The Grange Fair truly has an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the entertainment included in the price of admission. East Coast Pro Wrestling will be showing off what they’ve been cooking up in the ring since their triumphant Fair debut last year. Mighty Mike’s Strongman Show, the newest addition to the Yorktown Grange Fair, will feature a multiple Guinness World Record holder performing 1920s era feats of strength with a modern twist. Musical acts scattered throughout the day and night are a perfect option for music-loving families or a night out without the kids. Grange Fair favorites will be on stage all weekend, from youth oriented acts Kurt Gallagher and Annie & the Natural Wonder Band to the groups for all ages, No Options, the Knuckleheads, House Arrest, and The Whiskey’s Edge Band. Big Apple Circus alum Adam Auslander will be strolling through the fairgrounds with his sensational Variety Show full of magic and clowning fun. These shows and performers are top notch and it is truly amazing that everyone can see them for just the low cost of admission to the Fair.

Since its inception 100 years ago, the Yorktown Grange Fair has been a true country fair – so there are a wide range of contests and shows that feature the work of local artisans and farmers as well as community participation contests. These are also 100% included in the admission price. The Livestock Show has furry and feathered friends cared for by local farms and 4H families. Dusty Stables will be on hand Saturday and Sunday to do horse riding demonstrations during the afternoon. Take a stroll through the Grange Fair’s blue ribbon shows to be astounded by the craftsmanship and skill of our neighbors. For those who love to compete, there are a wide range of participation contests – including Pie Eating, Bubble Gum Blowing, Rubber Chicken Throwing, and the Tipsy Waiter Relay. Young and old, no one can resist the hilarity that ensues!

The Blue Ribbon Shows run Fair open to close and the contests are scattered throughout the day and evening hours to give fairgoers ample opportunity to either experience or take part in all the fun.

No fair would be complete without a midway experience and the Yorktown Grange Fair has one of the best. Tickets for rides are available ($1 per ticket or 28 tickets for $35) or ride wristbands ($30-$35/day) and offer an amazing option of unlimited rides all day. Play a game to win a fabulous prize, or savor the delicious Fair food.

The craft beer selections are sure to hit the spot during the warm afternoons or the cool Fall nights. There is nothing like taking a walk through the Fair midway – during the day with kids smiling and shouting for joy; or under the moonlight with colorful lights flashing, couples holding hands, and friends laughing.

The Grange Fair understands that the raucous atmosphere is sometimes too much for some community members, so the first hour of each day is “Quiet Hour”. to accommodate those who want to come out and enjoy some of the aspects of the Fair in a slightly less overwhelming environment. The Livestock Show and Blue Ribbon Shows are open and there are children’s games and activities, as well as a tractor display. Let a quiet morning at the Grange Fair start the day off right!

It’s a full day and a fun night with so many different activities and entertainment opportunities at the 2024 Yorktown Grange Fair – all for the low price of $10 per carload! Add with a wide variety of food and drink options and it’s easy to spend the day at the Fair with the whole family and come back for a sensational night out.
