CITY OF YONKERS LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE ENHANCING GREATER TRANSPARENCY AND RESIDENT RESOURCES

On June 3, Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano announced the launch of the City’s new redesigned municipal website, available at www.yonkersny.gov. In collaboration with the City’s Department of Information Technology and website provider CivicPlus, www.yonkersny.gov features integrated technology solutions exclusively created for local governments that are more user-friendly, accessible and mobile-responsive.

“With this newly designed website, we will better communicate and engage with residents, businesses and visitors,” said Mayor Spano. “More importantly, this site serves as an extension to our departments, improving administrative efficiencies and transparency through its set of robust features, a well-designed layout and functionality.”

The improved www.yonkersny.gov website features easy access to:

•       Mobile devices/apps

•       Online bill pay

•       FOIL requests

•       Job postings

•       Apply for licenses and permits; information on passport applications

•       Community event/board meeting calendars

•       Resource directory

•       Sign-up for alert notifications & weekly newsletters

•       Latest Yonkers news

•       ADA compliance

“In deciding to upgrade the City website, it was important to focus on how it would work with mobile devices,” said Bob Cacace, Commissioner, Yonkers Department of Information Technology. “We know that residents rely more and more on their phones as communication tools and the upgraded website is built to better facilitate mobile devices and evolving technology.”
