Michael Damiano Identified as Man Who Died in Yonkers Co-Op Fire

The following obituary identifies Michael Damiano as the man who died in the Yonkers co-op fire this week.

Michael Damiano, a long time resident of the Bronx & Yonkers, passed away tragically on March 8th, 2023 in the devastating fire on Bronx River Road, at the age of 67.

Michael was a proud High School Teacher at All Hollows High School in the Bronx, before retiring in 2018.

He is survived by his loving sister, Andrea & her husband, John Femoyer, his beloved nephew John, adoring niece & goddaughter Camella as well as his niece, Victoria. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Concetta Damiano.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fundraiser has been set up to defer the cost of the funeral expenses for Michael after his tragic and unexpected passing. The family will be present on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services- 732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, March 16th, 2023 – 12 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services- 732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704. Following the Funeral Service, Michael will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 West Stevens Avenue- Hawthorne, New York 10532.
