Alan Dershowitz Explains Why He is Representing ‘My Pillow Guy’

On September 22 noted attorney Alan Dershowitz, also a proud democrat supporter of President Joe Biden, explained his decision to represent My Pillow founder Mike Lindell as a result of the Department of Justice seizing Lindell’s cell phone.

“I disagree with My Pillow founder Mike Lindell about a lot of things, including his belief that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump. I’m a liberal Democrat; he is a conservative Republican. Yet I am enthusiastically representing him in his lawsuit against the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation over the recent search and seizure of his telephone,” writes Dershowitz in the Op-Ed, which is behind a paywall at WSJ.com.

But Dershowitz also explained himself in a YouTube video which we have linked above. “The whole point is that it is crucially important for those of us on the fair election -pro biden side of the argument, we must be the ones to hold our side to account and not allow them to violate the constitution with the goal of getting Trump-or getting Trump’s associates.”

“It is important for democrats who support Joe Biden’s legitimate presidency to critcize one’s political party when it has gone too far. This is exemplified by the republicans who criticized Trump for his dangerous election shenanigans.”

“I went after the Justice Department when it seized everything at Mar A Lago. Yes i’m a democrat but i put my principles before my partisanship. The same thing with Mike Lindell-he is a Trump supporter-but I’m gong to represent him and sue the justice dept on his behalf.”

According to Lindell’s sworn affidavit, “the FBI tracked him to a fast food restaurant after he went hunting. Did they have a warrant to track him? Do we as american citizens want the government to track us?”

Once the FBI found Lindell, “They would not let him leave. He said he wouldn’t give his cell phone without a warrant. He called his lawyer and he turned over his cell phone.”

Our cell phone contain everything, and the 4th amendment prohibits general warrants. If you can’t generally search a home you can’t search a cell phone. We are asking for a special master be appointed and for the return of his cell phone. We are hoping the judge says stop looking at the cell phone until I make a decision that the search was valid,” said Dershowitz.
