O’Rourke and rest of Young Republican board reelected to new term

On Thursday, April 21st,Yonkers Resident Luke Sweeney was elected Vice Chairman of the
Westchester Young Republicans. He was inaugurated into the position on Thursday, May 12th.
Luke is a lifelong resident of the City of Yonkers. Luke has helped many Republican campaigns in the past.

Most notably, he was Campaign Manager for Judge Richard Sweeney for Yonkers City Court and Digital Director & Deputy Campaign Manager for James Nolan for County Legislator. He works for Yonkers City Council Minority Leader Mike Breen.

Councilman Mike Breen said “Congratulations to Luke Sweeney on being elected Vice Chair of
the Westchester Young Republicans. I have no doubt that his hard work, consistent optimism
and intimate knowledge of the Republican platform will serve our party well. I look forward to
continuing to partner with Chairman O’Rourke, Vice Chair Sweeney and the Westchester Young
Republicans to elect Republicans in Yonkers, Westchester and beyond.”

Westchester Young Republican Chairman Devin O’Rourke said “I am thrilled that Luke
Sweeney is joining the WCYR board as Vice Chair. Luke is a rising star in the Westchester
Republican Party and no one works harder for their convictions than Luke. He has a very bright
future!”

“I’d also like to recognize the work that former Vice Chairwoman Ashley McCarrick has done
for both the Club and the Westchester Republican Party. She served in the Vice Chair role for a
decade and has helped lead the Club through some very challenging times. She was nothing
short of a perfect second in command for me during my tenure as well as my predecessor
Chairman Matthew McCarrick.”
