Philadephia police arrested Gary Cabana, on March 15 at the Greyhound bus terminal. Cabana is wanted in New York City for stabbing two employees at the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan. After the stabbing, Cabana fled to Philadelphia, where he is also a suspect in a fire that occured at a downtown Philadephia hotel.
Cabana, who is said to suffer from mental illness, was upset when his membership at MOMA was revoked for disturbing behavior. Cabana worked as an usher on Broadway in NYC until he was laid off last year. His upcoming arrest in NYC will also include an aggrivated harassment charge for threatening emails sent to the usher’s union representative.
On his escape to Philadephia, Cabana continued to post on Instagram and TikTok.
“Someday when all the lies are corrected by the Evil media, the Truth will out and I will be EXONERATED,”
“I am yesterday’s news, no longer trending. Glad U care but U might want to care about the NEW Covid #outbreak in China.”
“They just went back to 2020 w/ a billion person lockdown (2late),” he wrote of China. “Kids r being sent back to online classes while billionaire Chinese head to America for R&R (like who wants to play the Lockdown game EVER again). Look to yourselves, MASK UP FOR ONCE IN 2 yrs.”
“THERE WERE NO DISRUPTIONS,” Cabana wrote in the post. “Security NEVER escorted me from MoMA on the 2 ‘supposed’ days I ‘acted up’ 2/24 + 3/9. Total blind side …”
“NOTE to catty beeyotches of the world, words are sharper than knives. Bipolar is a tough road to hoe. Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. THEN U get framed and evicted from MoMA (not just the movies, ALL THE ART too) by a bitter old woman who shushes U when U LAUGH during a comedy.”
Cabana was also said to be threatening towards former President Donald Trump, who he blamed for making the COVID pandemic worse in the US. The Secret Service was notified of threats made by Cabana against Trump.
The two MOMA employees were injured but will recover from the stabbing.
