In an exclusive TV interview with “CBS Mornings” anchor Gayle King, Billionaire philanthropist Melinda French Gates reflected on her “journey of healing” following her painful and high-profile divorce from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
In the interview, Gates said it was not one “but many things,” that led to their divorce, one reason being Jeffrey Epstein. “I did not like that he had meetings with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made that clear to him,” French Gates shared with King before adding that she met the late perv “exactly one time” because she “wanted to see who this man was.”
“I regretted it the second I walked in the door. He was abhorrent. He was evil personified,” adding that she “had nightmares about it afterwards. My heart breaks for these women.”
In a statement to CBS, Bill Gates said that “Meeting with Epstein was a mistake that I regret deeply. It was a substantial error in judgment.”
Jeffrey Epstein was perhaps the United States most notorious sex offender, have been caught and charged with having sex with minor age girls on two occassions. After his second arrest he was found dead in his jail cell on Aug. 10, 2019.
King also asked French Gates about the revelation that her husband had an affair back in 2000. “I certainly believe in forgiveness, so I thought we had worked through some of that. It wasn’t one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point in time where there was enough there that I realized it just wasn’t healthy, and I couldn’t trust what we had.”
Many of the victims of Epstein are hoping that those who had sex with underage girls at his residences will be exposed. Eight of those men, knows as the John Doe 8, are hoping that their names will not be exposed after being mentioned in the Prince Andrew lawsuit filed by Virginia Guiffre, but were sealed from the public.
King asked French Gates if her husband continued to see Epstein after her opposition and if Bill had cheated again. “Any of the questions remaining about what Bill’s relationship there was — those are for Bill to answer, but I made it very clear how I felt about him.”
Several marriage counselors believe that Bill Gates did something to betray the trust of his wife a second time.
