Bill Barr Says No Evidence of Foul Play in Jeffrey Epstein Suicide-Hanging in NYC Jail

Jeffrey Epstein, left, killed himself in his MCC Jailcell, according to a new book by former USAG Barr

Many mistakes were made in the supervisor of inmate Jeffrey Epstein in the Metropolitan Correctional Center, MCC, in lower Manhattan, but those mistakes did not lead to Epstein death on Aug. 10, 2019, according to a new book by former United States Attorney General Bill Barr.

The book, titled, One Damn Thing After Another, Barr claims that all of the evidence points to the fact that Epstein did hang himself in his jail cell.

“The New York City medical examiner had conducted an autopsy and ruled that Epstein killed himself by hanging. Other evidence also pointed to suicide, but it was the video evidence that confirmed the medical examiner’s finding,” writes Barr in the book. “I personally reviewed that video footage, and it shows conclusively that between the time Epstein was locked in his cell at 7.49pm on the night of August 9 and the time he was discovered the next morning at 6.30am, no one entered his tier.”

Some of the errors in supervising Epstein included taking him off of suicide watch, and leaving him alone in his jail cell after his cellmate was transferred. Two guards that were supposed to be monitoring Epstein that night fell asleep. All of these blunders are identified by Barr in his book.

Barr also writes that even though Epstein deserved to die, “He should have been given a fair trial and, if found guilty, made to answer for his crimes. That he was not is deeply disappointing to me”.
