Anthony Weiner Starts Radio Show With Curtis Sliwa on WABC

Disgraced former NYC Congressman Anthony Weiner is making another return to the spotlight, this time as a radio host on WABC Radio 770AM. Weiner will co-host with Curtis Sliwa on Saturday’s for now from 2-4pm.

At a press conference held at WABC headquarters in Manhattah, owner and operator John Catsimatidis announced the debut of the new pair. The show will be called “The Left Versus The Right with Anthony Weiner and Curtis Sliwa.” Catsimatidis said, “This show is rooted in common sense. The co-hosts will discuss the prevalent issues that the city of New York faces.”

Sliwa is a long-time radio personality and WABC host. The founder of the Guardian Angels gave up his time slot last year to run for Mayor of NYC on the republican line. Sliwa said that “everyone deserves a second chance,” but this will be Weiner’s third chance.

Weiner was a Congressman representing New York City in 2011 when he was caught posted a nude image of himself by mistake. He resigned from Congress later that year, and attempted a return to politics in 2013 when he ran for Mayor of New York City. But that race also ended in perversion when he was next indecent images of his body parts surfaced under an alias Carlos Danger.

Weiner stayed in the race for Mayor, with his wife Huma Abedin ‘standing by her man’ just like her boss, Hillary Clinton did back in 1992 with her husband President Bill Clinton. Weiner lost the democratic primary for Mayor to Bill de Blasio

He pled guilty to sending obscene material to a 15-year old female and was sentenced to 21 months in jail in 2017. After serving 18 months, he was sent to a halfway house and released in 2019. He has stayed out of the public eye until now, with his divorce to Abedin being finalized.

“Curtis is good at radio. It’s me that I’m not so sure of,” said Weiner, 57.

“We’ll be discussing not only the politics of the city, which we know as well as anybody — from different perspectives,” said Sliwa, 67. “We’re in an era now where we believe in redemption. Why not give him a shot?”

Sliwa also said that if “were not for your personal failings,” he (Weiner) would have been Mayor of New York City.

Weiner said that he will not run for elected office again. Sliwa ran for Mayor of New York City last year as a republican, losing to Mayor Eric Adams. Sliwa had to give up his slot at WABC radio to run for Mayor, and that is why he and Weiner are starting out on Saturday’s. Look for this new pair to return to the afternoon drive at WABC soon, where Weiner will serve as a democratic foil to Sliwa and the mostly conservative listeners of 770AM.
