Yonkers to Participate in National Police Week -May 9-15

The Yonkers Police Department will be taking part in National Police Week from May 9th through May 15th. President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. It has now grown into a collaborative effort of many different law enforcement organizations to honor America’s law enforcement community across the country. https://nleomf.org/programs-events/national-police-week

All week, our Mobile Command Center will be at various locations throughout the City, stop in and take a look!

On Wednesday, May 12, Mayor Mike Spano and Police Commissioner John J. Mueller will be kicking-off recruitment for the 2021 Police Officer Exam – go to www.JoinYPD.com for more info and updates when available.

On Friday, May 14, stop in Police Headquarters and visit the Police Museum for hands-on display of Yonkers Police History.
