Yonkers Police Officer Bracken and K9 Partner Socko Retire

Join us in wishing PO Bracken and K9 Socko a Happy Retirement!!

PO Brian Bracken is retiring after 17 years of service with the Yonkers Police Department, joining us in 2006 after serving several years with the NYPD. PO Bracken is a Yonkers native who served in the 3rd Precinct and our Emergency Service Unit before joining our K9 Unit. He is a highly decorated Officer and received many awards throughout his career with us.

Retiring with him is his partner, K9 Socko. K9 Socko joined the Yonkers Police Department in February of 2016 after being donated by the Generoso Pope Foundation in memory of fallen Yonkers PD Detective Frank Fernandez. K9 Socko was cross-trained for both patrol work and narcotics detection and performed hundreds of demonstrations for schools and youth groups throughout his eight-year career.

Thank you both for your service to our City, and we wish you both a long, happy, and healthy retirement!!
