Yonkers Police investigate fatal double shooting on Morris Street

On May 31, Members of the Yonkers Police Department are presently investigating a shooting incident that occurred at about 8:20 PM this evening in the area of 55 Morris Street. Two victims sitting in a black sedan were shot at through the driver’s window: the first victim, a 19-year-old male resident of Yonkers, was struck at least two times including once in the chest – First Responders rendered CPR and he was brought to a local area hospital where he died from his injuries; the second victim, an 18-year-old resident of Yonkers, was struck at least one time in the leg – he was brought to a local area trauma center in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Detectives are actively working the case in order to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s). Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Yonkers Police Detective Division at (914) 377-7724 or submit a tip by texting the keyword YPD and the tip to CRIMES (274637).
