Mayor Mike Spano and Police Commissioner Charles Gardner recently presided over a Yonkers Police Department promotion ceremony at City Hall. Eight members of YPD were promoted and appointed to positions of higher authority and assignments within the Detective Division.
The ceremony was held in the historic Ceremonial Courtroom in the presence of family, friends, and peers. Congratulations to all, and best wishes on your new assignments to the following officers:
Captain Justin Barbato, promoted from detective lieutenant; Detective Lt. Todd Mendelson, appointed from lieutenant; Lt. Federico Quezada and Lt. Brian Collins, promoted from sergeants; Sgt. Megan Breen, promoted from police officer; Sgt. Hector Cartagena, promoted from detective; Detective Sean Concannon and Frank Califano, appointed from police officers; and Sgt. Deirdre Halpin, who was recognized for a prior appointment.
