Yonkers Police Apprehend Wanted Murder Suspect Jerome Wilson in North Carolina

Yonkers murder suspect Jerome Wilson, wanted for the August 2020 Oak Street shooting of Chazz Mitchell, was apprehended on April 4 in North Carolina. Yonkers Police Detectives working together with the FBI’s Westchester Safe Streets Task Force and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) tracked Wilson to a residence in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he was placed into custody without incident.

Wilson faces murder charges in the shooting death of Chazz Mitchell that took place on August 25th, 2020, in front of 63 Oak Street. A monetary reward was offered for information leading to his arrest. Wilson remains in custody in North Carolina pending extradition proceedings.
