
Series Begins with Two Specials Concerts on July 3rd to Honor the 250th Commemoration Anniversary of American Independenc
Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Parks Department Commissioner today announce the return of Yonkers’ Summer Film and Concert Series, which will open on July 3 with two concerts honoring the 250th Commemoration Anniversary of American Independence. The series, featuring LIVE Music and Outdoor Movies, is now in its 11th year and will continue every Thursday and Friday evening from July 9th through August 28th at various parks throughout the City of Yonkers.
“I am excited to announce the return of our beloved Summer Film and Concert Series. This year is especially meaningful as we open on July 3 with two concerts honoring the 250th birthday of our nation,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “For more than a decade, this series has been a wonderful way for Yonkers families to enjoy music and outdoor movies, embrace the warm weather, and experience the beauty and vibrancy of our community parks. We look forward to another great season together.”
“Yonkers Parks department has once again assembled a dynamic lineup this season, showcasing many of our amazing parks. Headliners include TKA, Musique, BonJourneyNY, and Ashley Wineland, along with seven family-friendly movies throughout the season. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy top-notch entertainment while having fun with family, friends, and neighbors,” noted Parks Commissioner Steve Sansone.
In honor of this nation’s 250th birthday, the series will open with the following concerts on July 3:
- 6PM | The Belle Tones Patriotic Concert @ Untermyer Park
- 6:30PM | Jake’s Southern Rock Band @ Yonkers Pier (Water Grant Street)
The Summer Film and Concert Series is FREE, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for comfortable seating under the evening sky. In the event of rain, all concerts will take place at the E.J. Murray’s Skating Rink Center at 348 Tuckahoe Road. Music and movies promoted are subject to change.
