The Yonkers football season ended last week with the Force winning and the Brave taking a loss. The Force defeated Mamaroneck High School 43-6. In this game, Coach Dan DeMatteo’s crew put their best effort of the season together.

Colby Frias was the star of the game, rushing for 101 yards and passing for 109 yards and two touchdown passes. Also helping the ground game was Tyler Hamilton, who rushed for 82 yards on 17 carries. On the receiving end of the ball, Justin Broquadio caught three passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Also rushing for touchdowns for the Force was Jaylen Pursude and Adonnis Bennet.

Nice way to finish the season, guys!

The Force defense played great, too, with four interceptions – two by Colby Frias and one each by Elijah Cordero and Justin Broquadio!.

The Brave lost to North Rockland H.S. The team fought all the way and never gave up till the end. The final score was 42-7. Manny Romero scored for the Brave on a 4-yard run.

Nice season, Coach Vic Chiappa. The Yonkers school system is lucky to have you as the head coach of the Brave.

In the next few weeks, look for the Yonkers Rising Player of the Year Award to be presented a member of the Force and the Brave teams.
