The Exchange Club of Yonkers recently held its annual crime prevention dinner at the Old Stone Mill Restaurant in Tuckahoe. This year’s honorees were Captain Andrew McLaughlin, commanding officer of the second precinct; Captain Bryant Pappas, commanding officer of the communications division; and Charles (Chuck) Gardner, recently retired Yonkers police commissioner.
Exchange member Justin Tubiolo introduced McLaughlin and presented him with the award for distinguished service, and Vice President Angela LaBreglio introduced Pappas for his award. Michael Ashraf introduced Gardner and thanked him for his outstanding service and dedication as commissioner of the Yonkers Police Department.
It was Exchange Club member Assemblyman Nader Sayegh who chaired the event and presented Loraine Palais, president of the Second Precinct Community Counsel, with a special recognitional award for more than 30 years as president of the counsel.
The event was attended by family and friends of the honorees, as well as members of the police department, and elected officials who were also on hand to present the honorees with proclamations and awards.
