Yonkers’ own NABF Super Featherweight Champion Iman Lee is stepping outside the ring for another important fight.
On Monday, September 28, from 6–9 p.m. at Gianna’s, 1034 North Broadway in Yonkers, Lee will headline “Champions for Men’s Health,” a special community evening dedicated to raising awareness in the fight against prostate cancer.
Presented by the Tough Tony Team, the event will bring together boxing, community leaders and local supporters for an evening of lite fare, photos with the champion and an important conversation about men’s health.
Joining Lee will be special guest speaker Sifu Dan Josephs, a prostate cancer survivor and martial artist, who will share his personal journey and the importance of men taking an active role in their health.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening will benefit ZERO Prostate Cancer, an organization dedicated to ending prostate cancer and supporting patients and families.
“Boxing gives us a platform, but what we do with that platform is what really matters,” said Tough Tony Team founder Neil Pellone. “With a champion like Iman representing Yonkers and a survivor like Dan willing to share his story, we have an opportunity to get men talking about their health and hopefully make a difference.”
Tickets are $40 per person and include lite fare. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for local businesses and organizations wishing to support the event.
