The Yonkers Chamber of Commerce held its 126th annual Business Hall of Fame Dinner on Nov. 7 at Westchester Manor. COC President Kevin Cacace welcomed all, and together with Women in Business Chair Moira Kiernan and Chairman Howard Berman, gave out several awards.
PS&S Architecture and Engineering received the business growth award for its many projects in Yonkers and the surrounding communities, including the Saw Mill River daylighting project at Van der Donck Park, the Mill Street Courtyard, and the Fed Ex facility on Tuckahoe Road.
Andrew Romano, Esq, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as an attorney with offices in Yonkers for 35 years, and for his many contributions and volunteerism in Yonkers, including working with the Exchange Club, Beczak Environmental Center and Yonkers Historical Society, to name a few.
MGM Resorts-Empire Casino received the Chairman’s Award for its continued partnership with Yonkers after purchasing the casino and raceway last year.
Flynn Memorial Home received a special Centennial Award. John and James Flynn are co-founders of Flynn Memorial Home, established in 1919 as a Yonkers, family-run business that continues to this day. The original South Broadway location still exists, and a second Yonkers location on Central Avenue was added 35 years ago.
