Yonkers Brave, Beat Mount Vernon 34-28! Force Win First Game, Sets Up Brave vs. Force Battle for Yonkers

The Yonkers Brave took care of business last Saturday afternoon when they won a thriller over Mount Vernon HS 34-28! (at Mount Vernon) Congrats to Coach Doug Hogue on his second win of the season in his second game!

The star of the game once again for the Brave was Keba Cisse! He had a total of 147 yards on offense, 3 total touchdowns in the game. On defense he made 13 tackles and had 3 sacks!

Also Keba had 1 forced fumble that he returned 80 yards for a touchdown! Michael Barnes had 51 yards rushing and 1 TD. Mikey Rojas had 37 yards rushing and 1 TD.

Coach Hogue also praised the following Brave players for their great efforts to attain this monumental win: Jaiden Rush 7 tackles, 2 forced fumbles,one fumble recovery for 23 yards. Ethan Concepcion 4 tackles and 1 pass breakup! Eamon Oelkers 3 tackles 1 sack.

After the game Coach Hogue said, “It was a tough hard nose football game”!

Last Friday night the Force played a game vs Roy C. Ketcham HS. The Force played a great game and won 21-14. This was the Force’s first game of the season and their first victory too!

Congrats to Coach Joe Venice on his great win as head coach! The offensive stars were as follows: Nazir Fields was 7 for 12 passing115 yards and 1 TD pass. Nadir also rushed 12 times for 149 yards and 1 TD on the ground. Josh Testarmark had 3 receptions for 124 yards for 1 TD and a 2 point conversion. Aiden Valerio also had a rushing TD.

Defensively For the Force T J Meyers And Jose Dejesus both had interceptions and Eli Clarke led the defense with 11 total tackles!

After the fame Force Coach Venice said, “Kids played well against a well coached and tough week 1 opponent at Ketcham.It shows alot about the team to go on the road on a Friday night and get the W. The atmosphere at Ketcham was a lot of fun. We are very proud of them. We have a lot of work to do but looking to build each day and week”!

“Defensively our guys did a great job stepping up and rallying. On offense are play makers did great things when the ball was in their hands. We are excited to get back to practice”.

On Saturday September 24th the Force play the Brave at Roosevelt HS. Game time is 1:30 pm.
