Yonkers Arts Weekend Festival Returns May 4 and 5

Schedule

YONKERS, NY – March 25, 2024 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano announced the return of Yonkers Arts Weekend (YAW) with an expansion of a two-day art festival to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

“Yonkers arts are more vibrant than ever,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “This year, we have new public art around the City, thanks to our collaboration with Yonkers Arts. We are also working with our talented young people who continue to inspire us and add to the tapestry of our community.”

A collaboration with Yonkers Arts, this year’s festival will feature a range of pop-up exhibitions, free art workshops, and musical performances across nearly one dozen venues including the downtown area and Carpet Mills Arts District.

“Yonkers Arts is extremely thrilled to partner once again with the City of Yonkers to present Yonkers Arts Weekend,” said Ray Wilcox, Executive Director at Yonkers Arts. “This collaborative effort allows us to celebrate the arts and diverse culture of our City and showcase the incredible talent we have right here in Yonkers. The City’s ongoing support of the arts is essential to making this event a success, and we look forward to another year of inspiring artistic experiences for our community.”

Since 2014, YAW has raised the bar making the City of Yonkers a prominent arts district in the lower Hudson Valley. Yonkers Arts Weekend attracts more than 10,000 visitors a year to City galleries.

Community partners for YAW include: Blue Door Art Center, Carpet Mills Arts District (CMAD), Hudson River Museum, MorDance, Philipse Manor Hall, S.I.C. Film School, Untermyer Performing Arts Council, US+U/Warburton Galerie, WEARTONE, YOFI DMAC, YOHO artists, Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District, City of Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation, Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE), Yonkers Public Library’s Riverfront Art Gallery and Yonkers Public Schools.
