To honor Black History Month we have our BLACK VOICES SHOWCASE on February 25th at 3pm. The program features MAMA GLORIA by filmmaker Luchina Fisher. The film is a 2022 GLAAD Award nominee and has screened on PBS. It has also been spotlighted by NBC News, People Magazine, Now This, BBC News, The Chicago Tribune and Essence. Ms. Fisher’s work is at the intersection of race, gender and identity. Her work has been supported by Black Public Media, the Field Foundation, Sisters in Cinema, Brown Girl Doc Mafia, the Queen Collective, Women Make Movies, the Athena Film Festival’s Works in Progress Program, Firelight Media and the National Endowment for the Humanities. We are recognizing Women’s History Month with our SHE FEST program on March 24th at 3pm. SheFest is a selection of short narratives and documentaries celebrating the voices of women and non-binary filmmakers in New York. These films represent the perspectives of women, encompassing all the complexities of identity and context. The program is curated by Gabrielle Fox, Founder of Theatre Revolution & Glass Ceiling Breakers and the Winner of the 914Inc. Women in Business Award.
