The National Council of Negro Women-Hudson Valley Section recently presented a Women’s History Month program to the Yonkers community to celebrate the important contributions of women in the United States. This program was sponsored by Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano and City Councilwoman Shanae Williams.

Director and Producer Athena Dent gave the public a range of various performances such as acting, biographies of trail blazers, modeling, poetry, singing and dancing. This is the first time a show by non-professionals has been done on such a magnitude level. One of the performers included Williams, who read poetry.

A large crowd attended the performance, which was followed by a reception, sponsored by Curator Haifa Bint-Kadi.
