To all of our readers of YonkersTimes.com. Our good friends at Empire Casino at Yonkers Raceway have given us a pair of tickets to their annual Irish Concert on March 3, this Sunday. The headline act is Shilelagh Law with Celtic Cross and The Pipes and Drums of the Police Emerald Society of Westchester adding to the entertainment.
Shilelagh Law, known to interpret traditional Irish music through a filter of “urban grittiness,” helps define the Irish-American experience that is a key part of the overall fabric of New York. Their fan base is widespread and one of the most loyal in the music industry.
Celtic Cross, founded just south of Empire City Casino in the Bronx in 1990, has been making and breaking Irish music traditions all over the world. The music of the seven-piece band blends a combination of traditional, sassy pop, alt-country and funk, playing music to share a great story through song.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets, which are priced at $20 and are on-sale now at empirecitycasino.com/irishconcert. All tickets are general admission/standing room only. The indoor concert will be held on the casino’s 4th floor. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. The concert is open to attendees ages 21 and over.
