Win a Luxury Suite for Yanks-Red Sox & Give to YPIE

Dan Murphy and Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano with YPIE Yankees luxury box tickets

I think one of the prerequisites for Yonkers mayor should be that you must be a Yankee fan. The picture above is an oldie but a goodie, six years ago, with yours truly and Mayor Mike Spano holding our raffle tickets, each wishing the other good luck – but each hoping that we would end up with the golden ticket.

It turned out that neither of us won, but we helped a great cause: Yonkers Partners in Education. YPIE works with Yonkers Public Schools students to ensure they are ready for, enroll in, and complete college. They confront the challenges of a low-income, urban school district by providing families with equitable access to the critical tools and services necessary for college success, and to make sure they are ready to thrive in the future economy and empowered to contribute to their communities and humanity.
The contest winner gets a luxury suite to watch the NY Yankees vs. the Boston Red Sox
on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7:05 p.m. at Yankee Stadium for the winner and 15 friends. The suite is number two, located behind first base. The prize also includes three VIP parking passes, food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Tickets are $100 and only 350 tickets will be sold. Call 914-377-4882 or email raffle@
ypie.org to buy your ticket. The drawing will be held Sept. 6 at 5 p.m. at the new YPIE College Zone, 92 Main St., Yonkers. The ticket holder does not need to be present to win. One-hundred percent of the proceeds support Yonkers Partners
in Education. Visit YPIE.org to find out more about this
organization and ways you can help.
