On April 1, Westchester County Police arrested four persons following a vehicle and foot pursuit yesterday and recovered a loaded handgun, illegal narcotics and a stolen car.
The incident began at 11:10 a.m. when the Real Time Crime Center broadcast an alert that a stolen BMW was traveling on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway. An officer located the vehicle as it exited the parkway at Weaver Street and attempted a traffic stop.
The driver would not pull over, returned to the Hutch and traveled southbound. In the vicinity of the Cross County Parkway, the stolen BMW sideswiped two cars before its four occupants jumped out and ran off. One suspect was captured by County officers after a pursuit in a wooded area adjacent to the parkway. The other three were taken into custody on local streets in Mount Vernon with the assistance of the Mount Vernon Police Department. A loaded handgun, 46 grams of illegal narcotics and the stolen 2021 BMW X5 were recovered.
