
The youth will not be identified because of his age, and his case is being handled in a juvenile section of criminal court. The shooting is believed to be gang related, and the victim was shot because he was recognized as being a member of a rival group.
Westchester County, and Yonkers police kept a lid on the arrest because of a continuing investigation into
identifying the other youths who were present and whether they had any role in the shooting. That inquiry is now closed and no one else was charged.
The 15-year-old was ordered to be held at the Woodfield Cottage facility in Valhalla.
The incident occurred at 5pm on October 7 on a No. 4 bus. As the bus stopped at Ludlow Street to discharge passengers, two shots were fired inside the bus. One shot missed the intended victim and went into a seat. The second bullet hit the intended victim in one leg and exited and struck his other leg, and he survivied the shooting.
