Fujifilm Volunteers Support Reforestation, Trail Maintenance & Environmental Education

Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF) hosted employees of FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation and FUJIFILM North America Corporation today for a volunteer day at Cranberry Lake Preserve in West Harrison today, supporting ongoing conservation and improvement projects throughout the preserve.

Fujifilm volunteers participated in several hands-on projects, including checking on native tree plantings that are part of the park’s multi-year reforestation project, performing trail maintenance and removing invasive species. Volunteers also built new benches for the nature center’s educational firepit area, creating additional seating for environmental education programs and activities. The projects support WPF’s ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance Westchester County’s parks and open spaces while helping ensure they remain healthy, accessible and welcoming for future generations.

During the event, Kenya Nakashima, president of FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation, and Ryuichi (Richie) Matoba, president & CEO of FUJIFILM North America Corp., presented WPF with a $7,500 donation on behalf of the company and its employees to support the Foundation’s mission to advocate for and invest in the preservation, conservation, use and enjoyment of the Westchester County Parks system.

“Fujifilm is proud of our longstanding support for open spaces, the environment, and the Westchester Parks Foundation,” said Nakashima. “By giving back to the communities where we live, work and operate, we truly put the Fujifilm group purpose of ‘giving our world more smiles’ into action.”

“Annual volunteer days are a meaningful tradition for our employees, giving us all the opportunity to work side-by-side in support of our community,” said Matoba. “Since 1986, Westchester County has been home to our North America headquarters, and we’re honored to partner with organizations that help create lasting benefits for our neighbors.”

Fujifilm is celebrating 26 years of supporting Westchester Parks Foundation in 2026, marking a longstanding partnership dedicated to preserving and enhancing Westchester County’s parks and open spaces. For more information about Westchester Parks Foundation, visit www.thewpf.org
