Westchester Parks Foundation Announces New Camp Director for Camp Morty

Westchester Parks Foundation, the only organization dedicated exclusively to promoting and supporting Westchester County Parks, is pleased to announce Devon Mincey as its new Camp Director for Camp Morty. Devon brings extensive experience in youth development, workforce programming, and camp leadership, along with a strong commitment to inclusion and positive youth outcomes.

A longtime Westchester County resident, Devon most recently served as a Youth Employment Service Worker with the Peekskill Youth Bureau.  He directed the Workforce Development Academy for Youth (WDAY), overseeing program design, compliance, and youth outcomes while building partnerships across Westchester County. His background also includes roles with the New York City Department of Education, Westhab, Caring for the Homeless and Hungry of Peekskill (CHHOP), and CHOICE of NY, supporting youth and families through workforce development, academic support, and case management initiatives.

Devon also brings more than six summers of camp experience from YMCA Camp Combe in Putnam Valley, where he served as a Children’s Staff Counselor and Counselors-in-Training (CIT) Coordinator, mentoring staff, supporting inclusive programming, and fostering a safe, welcoming camp environment.

As Camp Director, Devon will lead recruitment and training for Camp Morty’s summer staff, as the program now opens applications for Summer 2026 positions. Camp Morty is staffed by a multidisciplinary team that includes certified lifeguards, general counselors, program specialists, and a licensed social worker, ensuring a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for campers.  Individuals interested in working at Camp Morty are encouraged to apply early, as positions are filled on a rolling basis. Available roles offer hands-on experience in youth development, leadership, and community service.

Devon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Monroe College and an Associate Degree in Human Services from Westchester Community College. He currently resides in Beacon, NY.
