Westchester County to Fund $15 Million for Riverfront Park in Ludlow-Yonkers

Two renderings of the new riverfront park proposed, and funded by Westchester County, for Ludlow-Yonkers

On March 24, the Westchester County Board of Legislators approved a local law authorizing the County to partner with the City of Yonkers on a new 3.8-acre Hudson River waterfront park in the Ludlow Section. The County will convey a ½ acre of unused, vacant land to Yonkers and contribute $15 million toward its construction, improvements and land remediation. In exchange, Yonkers will operate and maintain the park, will include a boat launch, playground and green space, offering free parking and entry to all county residents.

At his State of the City address, Mayor Mike Spano said thank you to the Westchester County Board of Legislators for partnering and contributing $15 million toward our new waterfront park in the Ludlow neighborhood, which will be used for construction, improvements, and land remediation. The new 3.8-acre waterfront park will give residents direct access to the Hudson River, walkable open space and will have an enormous impact on the look and feel of the downtown area. Here are some renderings above.
