Showtime’s Emmy® nominated political docuseries The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth, includes a one on one with Westchester Congressman Jamaal Bowman. Rep. Bowman and Circus host and co-executive producer Mark McKinnon discuss the current status of the Democratic squabbling over President Biden’s ambitious domestic agenda. The interview took place outside the White House, where Rep. Bowman was meeting with climate activists on a hunger strike.
“Everyone is asking us what we are willing to live with, but why isn’t anyone asking (Senator Joe) Manchin why he continues to gut the bill? And his only excuse is inflation and entitlement. No understanding of when we invest in childcare we yield $7 on the backend, no focus on dealing with the issue on inequality. Mansion hasn’t spoken about any of this, but they continue to ask us as progressives how are we going to compromise?” asked Bowman.
See more of Bowman’s interview with THE CIRCUS as they examine the deep political divide ‘Big F***ing Deal’ on Sunday Sunday, Oct. 31 at 8 PM on Showtime. This week’s episode follows the chaotic week in Washington as Democrats scramble to finalize a big spending package that includes social programs and climate change measures before President Biden departs for an overseas trip.
The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth follows hosts/political veterans John Heilemann, Alex Wagner, Mark McKinnon and Jennifer Palmieri as they take viewers behind the scenes and beyond the headlines at a moment when American politics is more convulsive than ever — and the stakes for the country have never been higher.
