About the Artists

New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow formed the Amerigo Trio with violist Karen Dreyfus and cellist Inbal Segev following their acclaimed collaboration at the Bowdoin International Chamber Music Festival. Praised by The Strad for its “personality, purpose and captivating energy,” the ensemble has appeared at leading venues nationwide, including the Castleton Festival, Symphony Space, and the Phillips Collection.

Of a Washington, D.C. performance, The Washington Post wrote:
“Dicterow’s sweet, large, tightly focused tone gave the ensemble a rock-solid leading voice… It was in its finely woven blend of timbres and rapport that the trio most deeply satisfied.”

Named for explorer Amerigo Vespucci, the trio is dedicated to exploring the breadth of the string trio repertoire.

Violinist Lisa Eunsoo Kim joined the New York Philharmonic in 1994 and became Associate Principal of the Second Violin Group in 2003. A highly active chamber musician, she has performed internationally with artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Garrick Ohlsson, and Glenn Dicterow, and has appeared as soloist with orchestras such as the Seoul National Philharmonic and the North Carolina Symphony.

A faculty member at the Manhattan School of Music since 1999, Kim performs and teaches regularly in both the United States and South Korea. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School.
