UPAC Presents Tree Lighting & Caroling With a Cause, Friday Dec. 3, 5pm-6pm

Our Twenty-Fifth Annual Community Tree Lighting
5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 3rd, at Historic Untermyer Park

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is pleased to announce our Twenty-Fifth Annual Community Tree Lighting will be held Friday, December 6th at 5:00 p.m. at Untermyer Park. This evening continues UPAC’s decades long tradition of hosting community tree lightings and bringing musical entertainment to our park.

The event, to be emceed by Yonkers Board of Education President Reverend Steven Lopez, features performances by the 2021 Yonkers Idols, the Letterman Quartet, and Payton Savarese leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance. The outdoor ceremonies will be capped with Mayor Mike Spano’s Disability Advisory Board and their Chair Carole Conklin lighting our beautiful community tree.  Perhaps most exciting, Santa Claus, our favorite resident of the North Pole, just might be visiting us that evening!

After the official ceremonies, the Letterman Quartet will lead us all in a rousing round of holiday song designed to warm our hearts. All are welcome to enjoy our hot chocolate, courtesy of the Homefield Deli on Saw Mill River Road.

UPAC is asking all attendees to open their hearts to support our annual toy drive for the children in the Rising Ground Foster Care Program. We ask each person to bring a gift card or an unwrapped toy or two to help UPAC and our Yonkers Community bring the Christmas spirit to each deserving child, putting a smile of joy on each child’s face.

The Untermyer Performing Arts Council is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to continuing the tradition of Minnie and Samuel Untermyer, bringing free musical entertainment to our treasure of a park and the people of Yonkers and beyond throughout the year.

Our events are admission free and open to the public, and all are welcome. This event will be held rain, snow, or shine.
This program, done in cooperation with Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, is made possible by Empire City Casino, the Ira Goldman Memorial Fund, Mayor Mike Spano, and the Yonkers Department of Parks. Additional funding has been provided by Senator Andrea Stewart Cousins, Senator Shelley Mayer, Assemblymember Nader Sayegh, and other generous supporters.
