Unearth a Story of Chef Ellen’s Culinary Journey at the Crestwood Library!

Unearth a Story at Crestwood Library!

What if a family recipe could tell the story of generations? What if food could connect us to our roots, our communities, and the people who came before us?

Join us this Friday (8/14) at Crestwood Library’s Unearth a Story Party, featuring Chef Ellen of MISSed RUUts Café! Together, we’ll celebrate the end of the dog days of summer by digging into stories, traditions, culture, and cuisine.

Friday, August 14, 2026 | 2 PM–3 PM

Crestwood Library

Chef Ellen’s culinary journey began in her grandmother’s kitchen—a place where meals became memories and everyone had a place at the table. Today, MISSed RUUts brings those lessons of heritage, healing, wellness, and community to plant-based cuisine.

Want to learn more before the event? Read our new interview with Chef Ellen on the YPL blog! Discover the story behind MISSed RUUts, the influence of her grandmother, the cultural traditions that inspire her cooking, her advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, and why libraries have played an important role in her journey. 📖

Come connect with your roots, hear the stories behind the food, and celebrate the power of community. We hope to see you at the table!
