TWO WESTCHESTER COUNTY PARKS TO OFFER WINTER MINI CAMPS DURING FEBRUARY BREAK

Registration opens January. 12.

Muscoot Farm in Katonah and Cranberry Lake Preserve in North White Plains will offer Winter Mini Camps during February break, beginning Tuesday, February 17. Registration opens Monday, January 12 at 12 noon.

Muscoot Farm’s camp is offered to students in grades four through six and will run Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families may sign up children for one, two, three or all four days. The program fee is $75 per day or $250 for the full, four-day program.

Cranberry Lake Preserve’s camp is for students in grades five through eight and will run from Tuesday, February 17 through Thursday, February 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The three-day session is $225 per camper.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Westchester County Parks provide meaningful opportunities for children to learn, explore and stay engaged year-round. These winter mini camps create fun, educational experiences that keep kids active and engaged while school is out.”

Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said: “These camps offer kids an exciting alternative to spending much of winter indoors. It gives children a fun reason to stay active outdoors during a season when many spend much of their time inside and provide memorable experiences that make winter days feel special.”

Both camps are designed to connect kids with agriculture and nature during the colder months by participating in a variety of hands-on activities that give them insight into outdoor skills, winter ecology, and life on the farm and in the forest.

Registration opens Monday, January 12 at noon for Westchester County residents, and Monday, January 19, for non-residents.

Muscoot Farm is located on NY Route 100 in Katonah. Cranberry Lake Preserve is located at 1609 Old Orchard Street in North White Plains.
