Two Bronxville Seniors Commit to Play College Baseball Next Fall!

In 2021, Chris Lockwood established himself as a top pitcher in the league as a sophomore, posting a 4-0 record with a 2.87 earned run average (ERA) and 17 strikeouts (Ks) in 15.2 innings pitched (IP) and earning All League Honors. He also posted a solid .286 batting average (BA) and .391 on base average (OBA), while scoring 9 runs (R) and driving in 17 (RBI), playing mostly first base (1B) when he was not pitching. As a Junior Captain last year, Chris dominated his opponents with a 8-1 record, a 2.04 ERA and 65 Ks in 39.2 IP en route to being named League and Team Pitcher of the Year, All League and All Section. Guarding the hot corner (3B) when he was not on the mound, Chris’s offensive production also improved in 2022, as he batted .350, with a .440 OBA, 21 R and 31 RBIs. We are looking for this Senior Captain to have another fantastic campaign in 2023 as he finishes out his Bronco career and prepares to suit up as a Hobart Statesman next fall.

Recently-elected Senior Captain Ethan Jaquette, whose return to Bronxville in 2022 was a major factor in the team’s record-setting 18-2 campaign, helped to lead the Broncos offensively, defensively, on the bases and on the mound. In his junior season, Ethan posted a .446 BA, with 1 homerun (HR), 37 runs, 21 RBIs and 35 stolen bases (SB), playing wherever needed in the infield when he was not pitching. As a pitcher, he was 4-0 with a 0.90 ERA, 28 Ks and 1 Save in 20 IP. End of year hardware for Ethan in 2022 included the Team Heart & Hustle Award, as well All League and All Section Honors. Ethan is expected to be a major factor in the success of the Bronco’s 2023 season as well, as he prepares to take the field as a University of Rochester Yellowjacket next fall.

Congratulations to Chris and Ethan on making it to the next level, where they will be coincidentally facing each other in Upstate NY Liberty League. For now, we are thrilled to have them playing together for the 2023 Bronxville Baseball Program. Go Broncos!
