Mayor Mike Spano recently appointed Katori Walker and Angela Williams to the African-American Advisory Board. Walker will serve as vice chairman and Williams will serve as secretary.

Under the leadership of Mayor’s Liaison Dwanita Crosby, the board consists of nine members tasked with reviewing city policies, recommending effective measures, and promoting community involvement to advance the AfricanAmerican community in Yonkers. The other members of the African-American Advisory Board are Chairman Gene Johnson, Secretary I Kyetah Bryan, Community Outreach Coordinator Elaine Morgan, Sandy Amoyaw, Diana Temple-Brown, Arthur Melendez Jr., and Leroy Williams.

Walker recently finished an art project at Daylighting Phase III, where one of the utility boxes is now a colorful addition, pictured above.
