So as we go to press, a motorcade carrying former President Donald Trump is pulling up in front of the Miami Federal court house. The. Former President is pleading not guilty to an indictment accusing him of possession of documents he should not have in his possession.
Why didn’t he just return the documents and the whole thing would be over?. I don’t care if it’s Trump, Biden or Hillary, what are these people going to do with the documents now that they are out of office. What do they need the documents for? Is it an ego trip to show how much power they have? By Trump storing documents in the Mar Largo bathroom is he belittling the documents to show there worth. Is he playing a game with prosecutors?
Is Trump on an ego trip to show the world the power he has?
Are Trump, Biden and Hillary all on ego trips to with possession of these classified documents? What are they going to do with them. Share them with foreign governments in return for monetary or political favors?
Do we really need these documents to be public in the hands of elected officials. Should we forbid elected officials from removing these documents when they leave office. That will solve all our problems.
I don’t know about you but I am tired of all these document leaving their place of storage. Let the documents be reviewed under proper security only when and if there is a matter of national security or some other true necessity.
I am tired of all the scandals involving these documents. We need to stop being embarrassed when it is revealed these documents are made public. Our country and its people have been embarrassed for years. What do other countries do with documents that are classified? Do they let their elected leaders take the documents home? Who keeps track of what documents are leaving the National Archives or other secure location?
Until we come up with some clear policies and procedures that apply to everyone involved our country will continue to be embarrassed every time a scandal over documents breaks. I’m tired of this! Are you?
Though I don’t agree with Chris Christie politically, I give the man credit for taking on Trump and not just being silent over this document scandal like the other candidates have been. Watch his numbers go up in the polls while the others remain eerily the same. I can’t understand why all the Republicans are not following Christie’s lead. They sure would score points!
Smoke
So what did you think of all the smoke coming from the Canadian wildfires? At first I thought the smell was caused by a backyard barbecue. When my eyes started to get teary I knew this was something more serious. The folks in California are use to it. We simply are not.
I think our fire squads will need to provide more help to Canada to prevent these wildfires from spreading. Expect to see more smoke from wildfires as long as the land is dry and there is little within our power to stop it.
Meanwhile, if the land is dry be careful when starting a barbecue or campfire or flicking a cigarette out the car windows. In many cases this is how these fires start. Remember, ‘Only you can prevent forest fires
Pat Sajak
Say it isn’t so. After next season Pat Sajak is leaving Wheel of Forture? This is going to be a seat just as difficult to replace as the host of Jeopardy, Alex Trebek. Pat and Vanna are Wheel of Fortune. One can’t think of anyone to replace him with.
Well, it might be easier with Wheel of Fortune. It’s a much simpler game and doesn’t require the brainpower of Jeopardy. Will Vanna White replace Pat Sajak. She has done it before. I hope we don’t lose Vanna. Who can walk and turn letters like her.
By the way, Vanna really doesn’t ‘turn’ the letters. Basically she touches them and they light up. Probably in the early days of the show she turned letters before all the electronics got involved.
The Beatles and Artificial Intelligence
AI has gotten out of hand. Now we hear the Beatles will create their last long using AI, a a song the remaining Beatles were given to by Yoko Ono. Is it something you will take seriously? Will you consider it a real Beatles song. I guess we are all so hungry for Beatles music we will take anything.
95 in Philly
Remember the explosion under the bridge on Central Avenue where the Thruway passes over Central Park Avenue. That’s all I could think of when a truck caught fire and knocked out a piece of I95 in downtown Philadelphia. Two busy roadways. The state set up a temporary roadway that allowed cars to pass.
It took a while to repair it, and the U-Turn underneath was close permanently. Thank got at press time no one was killed or injured.
Cars and Tickets
Why is the city paying tickets on a Councilwoman’s private car. Why is the city allowing a city vehicle to be used for personal business? Councilwoman Pineda Isaac’s unpaid tickets from a city car and personal care are costing taxpayers thousands of dollars.
Aren’t city cars supposed to be used for city business. It’s nice work when you can have the benefit of a city car at taxpayers expense for your personal business and have the city vehicle you use filled up with gasoline at government expense. This has got to stop!
