On August 23, 2026, at approximately 2:11 a.m., New York State Police in Hawthorne conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the town of Greenburgh for a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
During the traffic stop, the operator, identified as Jazmir I. Skeete, 31, of Tarrytown, New York, exhibited signs of intoxication. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered. Further investigation revealed that an 11-month-old child was a passenger in the vehicle.
Skeete was taken into custody and transported to SP Hawthorne for processing, where she submitted to a chemical breath test that yielded a blood alcohol concentration of 0.13%. The child was safely released to a sober third party.
As a result of the investigation, Skeete was charged with:
- Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger — Leandra’s Law, a class E felony
- Driving While Intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor
- Operating a Motor Vehicle with 0.08% or More Alcohol in the Blood, first offense, an unclassified misdemeanor
Skeete was issued traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on September 18, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.
