Toys For Tots Westchester is gathering all the toys from collection sites across the county, including the offices of Yonkers City Council Member Tasha Diaz and Assemblyman Nader Sayegh. The organization will distribute toys to thousands of children in the days ahead.
Diaz and Sayegh teamed up to collect children’s toys at their offices and reached out to donors to help stuff their Toys For Tots boxes.
Assemblyman Nader Sayegh said: “The great work of Toys For Tots Westchester and community members like Tasha Diaz and so many others, means more children can be happy, celebrate and have a sense of joy.”
Yonkers City Council Member Tasha Diaz said: “I am honored to give back, and I thank everyone who helped with this effort to make sure every child receives a Christmas gift.”
Toys For Tots Westchester distributed 54,963 toys in 2020, delivering them to 24,091 children.
Toys for Tots is the Marine Corps’ premier community action program. For over half a century, Marines have been the unchallenged leaders in looking after needy children at Christmas.
