Town of Eastchester Supports Girl Scout Troop #1531 Hometown Hero Banner Program

Eastchester Supervisor Anthony Colavita, left with Veterans and Girl Scouts from Troop #1531

The Town of Eastchester will be supporting the Junior Girl Scout Troop #1531 Hometown Hero Banner Program. The Junior Girl Scouts have developed a banner program to pay tribute to past and present service men and women.

People can purchase a banner recognizing a service man or woman. The banners will have photographs of the veteran, active duty member or deceased service member together with other additional information.

The banners will be erected around town on brackets for pedestrians and motorists to see. People interested in participating can reach out to the Scouts at girlscouttroop01531@gmail.com.

Eastchester Veterans will also be involved in the program which they support as well. Veteran Josh Gaccione thinks it is a great program and thanked the Scouts for doing it.

Supervisor Colavita thanked our Veterans and Troop 1531 as well and said that this Veterans Day will involve a greater degree of recognition thanks to the Hometown Hero banners located all around the town.
