Nine MRHS students recognized

Nine Maria Regina High School Italian language students recently distinguished themselves at the prestigious Annual New York University Casa Italiana Italian Poetry Contest organized by the Italian Teachers Association. They competed against high school teams throughout the region, reciting the works of great Italian poets before a panel of judges. Two of the students from the renowned all-girls Catholic high school— Lillian Hinsliff of Scarsdale and Francesca Sindona of Yonkers— captured third place medals.
In attached photo, proudly displaying the certificates they earned for showcasing their command of the romance language in a highly competitive setting are (l to r): Brooke Muto, Portchester; Fiona Shabaj, Bronx; Jillian Fox, Yonkers; Lillian Hinsliff; Harmony Serrano, Yonkers; Francesca Sindona; Isabella DeMelo, Elmsford; Genesis Argueta, Yonkers and Isabella Bendick, New Rochelle.
