The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is Swimming Back to Playland’s Beach to Celebrate Duck Days of Summer

The 15.5-ton Mama Duck and her baby duckling are returning to the iconic amusement park to join in all the summer fun – from outdoor concerts to firework shows, historic ferry tours and more.

After making a huge splash in Westchester County last year, The World’s Largest Rubber Duck is set to make its grand return to Playland from Friday, August 16 through Sunday, August 18. The 61-foot-high Mama Duck and her 10-foot-high baby duckling, Timmy, will come ashore at Playland’s Beach to add to the family fun as visitors gather for the final weeks of summer vacation. Drawing thousands of visitors in 2023, the gargantuan attraction will captivate adults and children alike. The six-story high spectacle will bring excitement and wonder to the waterfront park, as well as a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity.

Mama Duck continues to spread joy around the globe from California to Canada and beyond, attracting audiences of all ages to marvel at her enormous size and shape.

“We are thrilled to feature the Big Duck for our 2nd Annual Duck Days of Summer at Rye Beach. Mama Duck brings her oversized love and joy around the world, and we are excited to have her swim up the Long Island Sound to Playland. All weekend, we will feature fun games, give-a-ways, photo ops, fireworks, and live music,” said Evonne Keeler, Chief Executive Officer of Playland.

In addition to welcoming The World’s Largest Duck, Playland is hosting a range of summer activities for the whole family to enjoy. Guests can venture to see the daring dragon… the iconic Dragon Coaster which just celebrated its 95th birthday, outdoor summer concerts presented by The Capitol Theatre, firework displays on Friday and Saturday evenings, dozens of fun rides and games, a historic ferry tour led by Historian Barbara Davis showcasing the cultural legacy of the Westchester waterfront and so much more.
