Year after year, the “Lords of Baseball” have denied Pete Rose, a/k/a “Charlie Hustle” his rightful place in the Baseball Hall of Fame, using the excuse that he “bet on Baseball games”—while there is some amount of truth to this allegation, Pete never bet on his team, and always gave 100% of effort to winning while he played.
Now, in this year of 2025, one Major League Baseball team has partnered with a gambling syndicate so that people watching their games on TV can place bets on the outcome (with the club getting a “big cut” of the profits).
This is the very thing the Baseball “Execs” have been screaming, and railing against for years—it is very evident that now these club owners and their “commissioner” have sold out to “THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR”.
The old adage applies here: “Don’t do as I do—Do as I say.”
