The Picture House Presents Italian Film Festival

Scheduled to Take Place the Weekend of April 25-27, the Festival is a Celebration of New and Classic Italian Film

The Picture House Regional Film Center announced today that the Westchester Italian Film Festival will take place the weekend of April 25-27, 2025, in partnership with the Italian American Forum. Opening night at The Picture House Bronxville will feature a dessert reception and a tribute to Chazz Palminteri, including a special screening of his new film A Bronx Tale One Man Show. The festival will run throughout the weekend at both of our locations, showcasing a mix of new and classic Italian films, along with director Q&As and an adult education class on the spaghetti western genre led by our Film Education Director, Spencer Sapienza.

“We’re thrilled to partner once again with the Italian American Forum to bring the Westchester Italian Film Festival to life,” said Clayton Bushong, Executive Director of The Picture House. “This year’s festival is a celebration of Italian cinema and culture, with a fantastic lineup of new films, timeless classics, and engaging events. We’re especially excited to honor Chazz Palminteri with a special screening of A Bronx Tale One Man Show on opening night and to offer unique programming like our Spaghetti Western class led by our Director of Film Education Spencer Sapienza.”

“The Italian American Forum is proud to support the Picture House Regional Film Center’s Annual Westchester Italian Film Festival and its efforts to provide a culturally enriched weekend of Italian films, documentaries, thought-provoking Q and A sessions, and adult programs,” added Anna Malafronte, Executive Director, Italian American Forum.

In addition to A Bronx Tale: One Man Show, the weekend’s lineup features the Westchester premiere of The Italians, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Michelle Danner; an exploration of the spaghetti western genre with a screening of the seminal Fistful of Dollars and a discussion led by TPH Director of Film Education Spencer Sapienza; TPH Film Critic and historian Joe Neumaier presenting a special screening and discussion of his favorite Italian film, Ginger and Fred; Trudie Styler’s award-winning documentary Posso Entrare? An Ode to Naples; Tutti in Scena, a fascinating documentary on the history of Italian theater in NYC, followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Laura Caparrotti; the gripping political drama The Final Covenant of Vito Marcantonio with a post film Q&A with screenwriter and actor Roberto Ragone; and the 2024 Italian WWII drama Vermiglio.

In addition to a cannoli bar, our steadfast supporter Meridian Risk Management will provide complimentary Italian wine and prosecco at opening night. Italian wine and beer will be available for purchase at The Picture House throughout the weekend.
