Taconic Opera, currently in its 23rd season, will be celebrating the return of live opera with outdoor matinee performances of a Verdi favorite: La Traviata! The General Director of the company, Dan Montez, says, “We feel so grateful to be bringing opera back to the public as we start to come out of this difficult year for the arts. The arts are such a vital part of our communities, and we are doing everything we can as an organization to bring our singing back safely and yet stay true to the beauty of the art form.”
Matinee performances will be held on Saturday, April 24 and Sunday, April 25, at 1 pm at the Depew Park Athletic Field, Peekskill, NY. Maestro Jun Nakabayashi is delighted to provide the downbeat for a small but live orchestra for the return of live performances with a live audience! Bravo!
All covid health and safety protocols will be adhered to: each performer will be fully vaccinated; audience members must be masked and will be spaced; seating will be limited to 100 tickets per day; to keep audience size to 100, tickets must be reserved in advance and will not be sold at the door. A Rain Date will be arranged if needed.
Depew Park is located at 1 Depew Court, Peekskill, NY with parking available at the Depew Park Veterans Memorial Pool Parking Lot, Bay Street & Depew Court. Handicap accessibility is limited.
