The City of Yonkers and its large Latino population celebrated June 2 during the annual Yonkers Hispanic Day Parade. Sponsored by the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation and the City of Yonkers, marchers, bands, dancers and floats proceeded along South Broadway on a beautiful afternoon.

This year’s grand marshals were the Tito Puente family. Other parade honorees included Padrino Roberto Espiritu (owner of Pinata Bakery), Madrina Melissa Goldberg (assistant to Mayor Mike Spano), Ambassador for Health Dr. Caridad Fresneda (of South Yonkers Family Medical), Ambassador for Music Jose Silva (DJ GoodTimes), Ambassador for Business Ramon Martinez (owner of Dia y Noche Restaurant), Ambassador for Education Mr. Eddie LaGuerre (of Yonkers Charter School), and Ambassadors for Public Safety YPD Det. Vionette Martinez, YFD Capt. Danny Alicea and EMT Rolando Diaz.
