Summer reservations are now open for Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF) Trails Without Limits program at Lenoir Preserve in Yonkers this July and Cranberry Lake Preserve in West Harrison this August. This free programallows individuals who may be living with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, amputation, paraplegia, arthritis, cardiac issues, joint replacements, or have other mobility concerns the opportunity to hike the trails of Westchester County Parks with the use of our All-Terrain Trackchairs that can be used on dirt trails, mud, sand and grass.
The All-Terrain Trackchair program is offered at no cost to the user. Individuals with their family, friends, and/or caregiver, will experience an approximately 1–2-mile hike guided with a WPF volunteer. The Adaptive Hike Program is meant to be used by park visitors who need hiking assistance to experience a rustic hiking trail. Because of limited availability, it may only be reserved by those who find it difficult to experience the designated trail without assistance.
Sessions must be reserved in advance by logging onto https://www.thewpf.org/trailswithoutlimits Registration forms must be completed and submitted no later than 48 hours after registering and emailed it to office@thewpf.org.
